triumph in adversity

The basic theme of all my work is the everlasting flow of creation. Western civilisation and science have spent the last several millennia chasing the elusive basic building block of the universe (the atom) only to discover there is no such particle and it is actually a wave, a photon of light or information.

Waves are the building blocks of reality, not things.

We humans don’t like that one bit. We crave the concrete reality of something more substantial, more solid. Fluidity frightens us. We fear change. We like to live within our comfort zone and anything that threatens that cocoon we resist vigorously.

We only need to look around at the current hysteria of world geopolitics to gauge how threatened people feel when the status quo is challenged. But change is inevitable and essential. The single most stunning beauty of the universe is that every particle, every snowflake, every blade of grass and grain of sand, every moment is unique and different.

Imagine how boring life would be if this were not so. If every moment and everything was the same. If we were all clones. Our individuality is our divinity. The supreme blessing and sacredness of life is its authenticity and uniqueness.

So, change is inevitable and learning to ride the waves of life harmoniously and happily is my ultimate definition of success.

Often the tides come crashing in. Often the lessons are painful. All too often, life is confronting! The sharks are always lurking beneath the shadows.

But it is not what happens that is important. It is how we respond. This is how we master reality and become spiritual masters gliding gracefully and graciously through life regardless of what befalls us.

The true test of character is how we deal with adversity, how we overcome obstruction, how we build inner resilience and strength of spirit. How we become more of who we are – a truly divine spirit.

Can we maintain our inner cheer and positivity?

Can we be stronger than any adverse fate?

Can we bend and weave around obstacles like the flowing stream meets rocks in its path?

Can we soldier on!

Difficulties and obstructions throw us back on ourselves and force us to introspect – to go within; to raise our consciousness to a higher level. To become more, bigger, better. When calamity happens don’t seek to blame or bewail. Don’t be a coward and surrender. Go within to the deepest stratum of your being, knowing the light will return, knowing you will find your way, knowing all will be well.

It is this inner strength and stability that is stronger than fate and is the only guarantee of good fortune. Inner cheerfulness is the source of success.
